COVID - Occupational Health Update and Guidance

As COVID continues to bite, many companies are now looking to safely re introduce health surveillance. Health surveillance is an integral part of any work place. Not only does health surveillance identify any health concerns, but it also helps to identify those who are struggling with mental health.

Business as usual

We have remained opened and will continue to remain open throughout this pandemic. It is essential for us as a business to be on hand to support our clients round the clock.

COVID Vaccination Update

We continue talks with our vaccinations partners with regards to COVID vaccines.  However, at this time, COVID vaccines are dedicated to NHS supply only.  As soon as we have availability, you will know.

Health Surveillance

Health surveillance can be carried out using a paper exercise. If a follow up is required, then this can be done via zoom, teams or if necessary in a COVID safe environment face to face.  Notwithstanding the duty of care to protect individuals from COVID, there is a duty of care to ensure employees are fit to carry out their intended work and are not put at risk from noise induced hearing loss, lung issues, skin conditions or white finger.

Mental Health and Counselling

Every day, we receive calls regarding mental health and employees and their families who are struggling. With average waiting times for mental health and clinician support increasing, there has never been more prevalent a time to engage with our counselling services either stand alone or as part of our Employee Assistance Programme.

Safety Critical Workers

Safety critical medicals can and should still be carried out where reasonably practicable and within a COVID safe environment. At AMS, our number one priority is the health and well being of our clients and this is why our COVID safe facilities are HSE and COVID compliant which means you as an employer can confidently allow your employees to attend our centre.
