Ayrshire Medical Services operates a UK wide Drug and Alcohol Service available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
We meet the UK standard of attending an on-site collection within the target time of 2 hours throughout the UK.
Our Collection Officers are trained to collect urine, saliva, breath and hair samples. All candidates undergo an alcohol breathalyser using the Lion breathalyser to Road Safety Standard.
Samples are tested initially for immunoassay where an instant result is obtained and thereafter the sample is sent in secure packaging to the laboratory for GCMS laboratory analysis.
Ensuring the chain of custody remains intact for legally defensible results is the most complex part of the collection process, which is why AMS Ltd robustly train and audit its Collection Officers.
